SUP SYMPOSIUM 2022: HAYLING ISLAND
15TH-16TH OCTOBER 2022
The 2022 WSA SUP Symposium is a great weekend for all Stand Up Paddlers from coaches looking for educational CPD and recreational paddlers wanting to learn and experience new SUP opportunities. The event is open to ALL, no matter what organisation you affiliate with, where you paddle or what discipline you paddle.
We are lucky to have fantastic support from industry leaders, Starboard, Oshea, Fanatic, SIC, Blackfish, Palm to name a few. We have added new workshops from last years feedback so book early to avoid any disappointment.

SATURDAY NIGHT GUEST SPEAKERS:
-
Extreme adventurer and international bestselling author Jordan Wylie will be talking us through the lessons he learnt from one of the worlds longest ocean SUP journeys at our forthcoming SUP Symposium at Hayling Island.
The former soldier and star of Channel 4’s award winning TV show Hunted takes us on a powerful and emotional journey that saw him cross the Irish Sea twice and paddle around Cape Wrath during the height of winter all to keep a promise to a young boy he met in a Africa 4 years earlier.
Hear this moving account, that is set to show us all how we can use adventure to have a positive impact on the world whilst inspiring and helping others.

Dave and Sophie knew each other for 2 weeks and each had less than a year’s SUP experience when they committed to paddling the length of the UK. They only had a month to prepare – learning Tidal navigation, planning a route, onboarding a support crew, locating two hardboards (an almost impossible task in post COVID 2021), training and actually learning how to paddle on the sea! What ensued was an adventure of a lifetime with its fair few challenges. The expedition started out as an ‘in’ joke; a play on “Suck it and See” that would become a philosophy that saw them become the only two people in the world to consecutively SUP, then Hike and Cycle LEJOG and in under a year. Because….. why not?!
